Frequently
Asked Questions |
| |
What
is “Take Order”?
The “Take Order” method is just like it sounds. The
Scout goes door to door with a Take Order Form (or Mom and Dad take
order forms to work). The Customer writes his/her order on the form.
The Scout delivers the popcorn in December and collects the money
from the Customer.
Show
and Deliver (Starter Kit):
The Scouts were given an allotted amount of popcorn at the beginning
of the sale to have product on-hand as they took orders. This is
also referred to as the “Show-n-Deliver” method. Some
customers may prefer to receive their order now instead of waiting
until early December. This will allow the Scout to complete the
sale on the spot. The customer receives the order and the Scout
receives payment so there is no need to return in November.
However, a follow-up visit later in November to see if they liked
the product and wish to order more could result in additional Take
Order sales.
For Pack 107 & 207, this year’s Starter Kit is just over
1/2 ($186) of the Scout’s $350 goal and will consist of: 1
Gourmet Caramel Corn Tin, 1 Chocolatey Caramel Crunch Tin, 3 Unbelievable
Butter Microwave Popcorn, 2 Butter Light Microwave Popcorn, 1 Kettle
Corn Microwave Popcorn, 1 Carmel Corn Light, and 5 Caramel Corn
w/Peanuts Tins.
Do I have to take a Starter Kit?
No, you can sell using only the Take Order method if you like. If
you are interested in a Starter Kit, please be sure to sign up for
one at the September Pack Meeting or contact Jose Beyer or Paul
Rohrer (see bottom of page) by Friday, Sept 11. Prizes, Awards,
and Scout Dollars will be based on a Scout’s Total Sales (Starter
Kit Sales and Take Order Sales combined). However, we do not want
to buy popcorn for orders that have already been delivered. Please
be sure to keep the Starter Kit Sales separate from the Take Order
Sales when turning in your orders at the end of the sale.
When is Money Due?
Money from the Starter Kit sales (and any unsold popcorn) needs
to be turned in by the end of the popcorn sale (Nov 3). No money
is due when the Scout first receives his Starter Kit popcorn. For
Take Order Sales, the Scout will receive payment from customers
as he delivers the popcorn in December. Money from Take Order Sales
is due by (Dec 10).
What about checks?
Customers can pay by cash or check. Checks should be made payable
to Pack 107 or 207. However, to make it easier when turning in your
popcorn money, please write one check to Pack 107 or 207 for the
cash you received.
